Seven years ago my Dad was told he had lung cancer and had six months to live. He never smoked and was an active person so it seemed unfair. He made it to his 80th birthday - just!
In memory of
Peter (Jim) Hawkins
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. My Dad didn’t beat the clock but was given amazing support by the medical profession. He was always just behind the research. Eight years later I found myself needing radiotherapy to make sure that benign skin tumours had not spread. I have been fortunate, but attending the oncology unit has been a real experience. I have been lucky, but many others are not so lucky. We need to beat cancer and to support all the amazing staff who help all of us. Please support Cancer Research in May way you can - someone you know and care about will need their help.
