My Story
I am riding 100 miles in aid of Cancer Research UK as I know this horrible disease affects too many people and I hope my small contribution to this charity will help find a cure. I am unfit and a bit too wide around the belly. Last year my wife Melissa told me that I had to use the bike that I had bought 5 years previously.... or she would put it on Ebay. I started slowly working towards a bike ride that I entered last year, to ride 32 miles ....and I quite surprised myself and really enjoyed it. In August this year, I will be riding the Prudential 100 London through Surrey. The course was designed for the 2012 Olympics and I'm told is very 'hilly' in Surrey. I've never ridden anywhere close to this distance, so I will be training hard throughout the summer to make sure I finish the ride! Those of you that know me well will know that this is a huge challenge for me. Last year Melissa's family had a terrible year, as they lost her Auntie Mandy to cancer - she was only 50. It was a very sad time for the family, but unfortunately this kind of thing is happening all the time. Cancer Research UK is getting closer and closer to finding a cure. I would be very grateful if you could donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
