31st Jul 1940 - 19th Jul 2017
Dad died last July. He had bowel cancer. With a very late diagnosis, he was already at Stage 4 and there were no options available to help him. Barely 3 months after his diagnosis he was gone. Meanwhile, several good friends are receiving treatment for other types of cancer. I am doing this walk in memory of Dad and other loved ones who are gone, and in support of those still bravely tackling cancer. Preparing myself to complete this marathon length walk will be a challenge. All support will be greatly appreciated, whether that be from donations or psychological!! Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. CAUSE
Bowel cancer
Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer and half of people diagnosed will now survive for at least 10 years. But with bowel cancer still claiming around 43 lives each day, more research still needs to be done. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
