My Story
In 1998 our daughter was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. Our world collapsed and her future looked very fragile: we were told she might not make it off the operating table. Later this year she will be a beautiful bride and I have the brilliance of Surgeons, Doctors and Nurses at Preston and Christie Hospitals, as well as the team of Researchers who gave them the knowledge and technology that allows us to look forward to this wedding, to thank. Most of them I will never meet and the best way I can show my appreciation is to help them to keep doing their wonderful work. I would like to play my own small part in helping others to have the same outcomes and futures to look forward to by running the Manchester Marathon in under 4 hours just days after my 58th birthday along with my son who will be there to prod and nag me along when I feel like slowing down. And I do promise that barring illness or serious injury I will finish even if I have to crawl across the line! Together we want to make a difference. Please help us to raise as much as we can so that more and more people can have a future. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Please donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
