My Story
My story begins 26 years ago when my dad was diagnosed with cancer at a relatively advanced stage. I watched him suffer and no longer be the person he used to be. I watched how this impacted my mam, her life and her emotions, something she has never truly recovered from. Sadly he died at the age of 52 and this inspired me to donate monthly to cancer research to help others suffering in this way. More recently my partner has been diagnosed with cervical cancer and is currently undergoing treatment and everything felt like it was 24 years ago, the sleepless nights, the daily trips to hospital, those moments of silence where it consumes you. Nobody should have to go through this Although 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime its not just the individual who is impacted, its also the family, friends, loved ones, carers, nurses and others who bear the burden, the worry and the heartache not just during treatment but long after. Help us fight this disease and together we may just find a way to treat and eradicate cancer for all.
