MY MUM
My mum Vera died of Pancreatic cancer. As this year is the 10th anniversary of her death, I decided to take on the challenge of swimming 21 miles in the Cancer Research UK, Sink or Swim, Stand up to Cancer Challenge. I am not the best swimmer and this is very much testing my abilities in the pool! I began the swim on 2nd October and to make sure I finish by the 31st October, to fit in with my shift work, I have to swim 1 mile per day or 64 lengths for the challenge. The money raised will help take breakthroughs in the lab and transforms them into treatments and cures for cancer patients who need them right now.
