2017 Simplyhealth Great North Run
Sun 10 Sep 2017
Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated. Cycling the 127 miles of the Leeds Liverpool canal Gwyn, John, Chris, Mark and I raised over £700 for CRUK. We saw locks, beautiful countryside, herons, lovely pubs, people enjoying water-sports and the Grand National Canal Turn. We also saw decaying mills, rats, sofas in the canal, people fishing with magnets, drug dealers and police divers looking for dead bodies. Two great days out! Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. I have set my self a series of challenges in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I am aiming to inspire people to exercise more and improve the lives or everyone touched by cancer. Four out of ten cancers could be prevented by lifestyle changes. Physical activity can slow cancer progression, improve survival and reduce the chance of recurrence. If physical activity were a drug it would be hitting the headlines. I just want to motivate people to exercise more and beat cancer. Stopping smoking and losing weight can prevent cancer. Participating in cancer screening (cervical, breast and bowel) can detect cancer sooner. Tell your G.P. If you have symptoms (lump, blood, pain, weight loss) or are worried about cancer. Let’s Talk Cancer. Early diagnosis saves lives.
