NEBOSH Walk All Over Cancer Fundraising Page

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. This March NEBOSH employees will be walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer. Please take the time to read about this incredible journey from one of our employees Laura: In early 2019 my younger sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, she was 31. What followed was 18 months of aggressive treatment which saw her lose her hair, her taste buds and her energy. She had chemotherapy followed by surgery, followed by more chemotherapy and then finally a course of radiation. As someone who lived on her own, she needed not just emotional support, but physical support as well, cleaning, shopping and generally just doing bits she didn’t have the energy to do. Despite the pandemic starting during the latter stages of her treatment, I am delighted to say that she ‘beat’ cancer and is now in ‘remission’. She’ll undergo lots of monitoring over the next few years, but essentially the cancer has now gone. The help and support that she received from cancer charities such as cancer research was immeasurable. They were there when she needed them, and there for us as her support group. We will be forever grateful for the research and efforts that go into improving cancer treatments and ensuring that more and more people are able to beat this terrible disease.
