My Story
2020 hasnt been a good year, but 2019 was pretty bad for me too. Most of you know I now live with a cancer that is no longer curable but it is very treatable thanks to charities such as Cancer Research UK. Thanks to research I receive a drug that can target the exact type of cancer I have which allows me to continue living as normally as I can and for as long as I possibly can. One year ago I received a major hip replacement followed by further chemotherapy, it was a difficult time - and now I am living life (pretty much) as I did before (ignoring covid of course)! After a year where vital cancer trials have been delayed, the Race for Life is more important than ever. That's why I'll be taking part in a Very 2020 Race for Life. This year its slightly different (no crowds of people walking or running together) - its just a 5k walk on 26th September - but i am going to try and walk 5K EVERY day until 31st October - that's not much really, around 3 miles each day (or approx 6,200 steps) and hopefully I can easily do that - it will help keep me as healthy as I need to be AND hopefully raise further vital funds for thousands and thousands of people just like me. Every pound you can donate will go towards Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work, so please sponsor me today!
