Natalie's Race for Life

As some of you may know, I lost my step mum to cancer last September. She was a 48 year old, strong and inspirational woman. I can honestly say she taught me so much about life growing up and most importantly about being a great mum, as she was to me. She battled the disease for 3 years and although she lived with the illness she never complained and continued to live her life with a beautiful smile on her face. She lived her life to the fullest by travelling, seeing different parts of the world, spending time with her family and ‘making memories’ as she would always say! She always encouraged me to do the same thing. It has been more than difficult for me and my family losing her, but having those 3 years following her diagnosis, to really love and appreciate our time together, will forever stay in my heart. I have decided to run the race for life along with other members of my family in honour of such an inspirational person and to help raise money for those currently living with cancer. If I am able to buy someone some extra time to spend with their loved ones, even just an extra day I will feel that I have achieved something.
