My Story
In 2018, we received the devastating news, that Sue had terminal cancer. As her family, we cried and couldn't help dreading what was yet to come. Sue saw it differently. She saw an opportunity to have her family pull together and more importantly BE together. She had her head up high and she marched through the time she had, with absolute strength and pride!! All her kids and grandkids, right there beside her! Not forgetting, of course, her little ninja, Sandra, who was there with love and laughter for ALL of us, every step of the way. Sue's journey was one of togetherness, laughter and life. She took her strength from the chaotic times we had and the uproar we caused. Her energy and mischievous nature were heightened by the laughter we shared. Losing her in January 2021 was only made easier by the memories we had made and the family bond forged in tears, both happy & sad. How could we be so sad, when surrounded by pictures of her laughing and smiling. In short, as much as we are happy to raise a few quid for cancer research, we are doing this for mum/nan. To give her a bloody good laugh, up there on her cloud, and no doubt give ourselves a fair few bruises in doing so. We will continue making memories and sharing laughter, for Sue xxx Cancer is happening right now, 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.
