My Story

I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k with two of my best friends to raise money for cancer research. I, like many others, have been affected by losing loved ones to cancer. Both my parents lost their dads to cancer at a young age and although treatment has moved on since then there are still many types of cancer with very few treatment options. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
