Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am doing a sponsored sky dive in memory of my late mum for cancer research. My mum passed away on 21/12/2019 from an aggressive and rare type of kidney cancer also known as papillary renal cell carcinoma. My mum was diagnosed in June 2019 with renal cell carcinoma with metastasises to the lung and lymph nodes. She had two rounds of immunotherapy which needed stopping due to a severe reaction. She commenced on sutinib chemo medication and she had severe hand, foot and mouth syndrome from. This effected her eating habits. By the time she had passed away, the cancer had spread to the brain, bones, vagina, lymph nodes, bladder, lungs and possibly other places we were unaware of. My mum ultimately was weakened from her chemo and contracted pneumococcal pneumonia which she was unable to fight off due to her cancer. My mum was 56 and relatively healthy before diagnosis. The kidney cancer was only picked up by chance after going for an abdominal, chest and neck X-ray to figure out the cause of a cough she had had for over 6 weeks. More needs to be done to find a cure for all types of cancer. Nobody in this day and age should have to deal with or go through the pain and suffering my mum did. So please dig deep and help make an impact in this world! 🧡 Skydive was due to take place on the 8th May 2020 but due to the Coronavirus pandemic this has been delayed till the 20th August 2021
