My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 5 years ago, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and in the July she was given the all clear so went into remission(increased chance of it coming back). Now after 5 years she is finally out of remission! This means that she now has the same chance of getting the disease as everyone else and has officially beaten this disease! However,1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This means that most of us have been or will be affected by this disease. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour.
