2019 Tough Mudder Series

Tue 31 Dec 2020

My Story

On the 13th of November 2017, I sadly lost my mother to pancreatic cancer, after her strong battle. She beat cancer the first time in 2013 after being diagnosed in 2011, and then a second time in 2016 after being diagnosed again in 2014. She was the strongest person I know fighting so she could watch us grow up for as long as possible, even towards the end she never gave up. She was a dedicated mother, giving up her job and devoting her life to looking after Jensen, my older brother, Sapphire, my younger sister and myself. She was friendly and kind hearted to everyone and always put others before herself, despite her illness. She cared for everyone so much that at her funeral they struggled to fit everyone in the church. She was the best holiday planner, helping us to experience the world and create memories we will never forget. One of my favourite memories was going skiing in the Alps in France. Despite how weak she was she was determined to ski with us and create more of these amazing memories. She never failed to be happy and make us all smile and never saw her illness as a setback. You would never know she was ill from her incredible upbeat attitude to put her all into everything she did. In any tough situation her words would be ‘your glass should always be half full not half empty’, these are words I will live by forever. I miss her every day, especially when I think about the milestones in my life that she can’t support me in, but I know she will always be watching down on me. On the 17th of August I will be taking on the 10mile tough mudder in Gloustershire. I’m doing this to make her proud and try to help other people also facing this challenge. The amazing research being done into cancer allowed my mum to spend as much time as possible with us, therefore any donations will be much appreciated. Help us beat cancer sooner!
