In memory of
Mary Riley and Marion Burgess
My Story
I'm raising money for a couple of reasons for Cancer Research UK. The first is in memory of two strong woman I have lost to this terrible disease. My mum in law Mary Riley was an amazing, strong, hardworking and supportive woman who loved her family and Marion Burgess was my mum who had a hard life but was kind and would help anyone. Even when this disease ravished their bodies and they were near the end of their life both woman showed amazing strength. The second reason is to help beat cancer sooner and fund research so more people can beat it. It will be a massive challenge for me to give up sugar for a month as I have an incredibly sweet tooth and crave sweet stuff when comfort eating. Doing this challenge will help me reset my taste buds and feel healthier. Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This February I’m ditching the sweet stuff and giving up sugar for a whole month to raise money for Cancer Research UK and helping to beat cancer sooner. Help me conquer my cravings by sponsoring me.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
