WALKING FOR MIND, BODY, AND SPIRITS

Following the shocking news of her chemotherapy treatment, the Princess of Wales emphasised her need to heal in “mind, body, and spirits,” and this has been in my thoughts ever since. While the Princess of Wales recovers privately, I wondered if we could use this time to care for our own minds, bodies, and spirits, together as an online community. I have signed up for Cancer Research UK and Stand Up to Cancer’s April Dog Walking Challenge. My Labrador, Monty, and I will be walking approximately 2 miles every day, to get outside, stay active, and clear my mind. My hope is that you will join me, daily, weekly, or every once in a while, with a dog or a friend or just by yourself. Alongside this challenge, I will be fundraising for life-saving cancer research for Cancer Research UK. It was groundbreaking research that helped my own father when he was diagnosed with cancer many years ago. I’ll be sharing photos of our walks and podcast, audiobook, and mindfulness and meditation resources that I’m using during these walks. I hope you’ll tag me in your posts as well, so we can all care for our minds, bodies, and spirits together. Thank you to everyone who chooses to donate and take part in this challenge. As we have heard before, big things start small - and I really hope I can make a difference, even in the smallest way.
