My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. This fundraising event is in memory of a wonderful and courageous girl, Millie Taylor, who died of Cancer, aged 13, in December 2021. Millie spent all of her life living in Watford. Millie fought bravely against Cancer after her diagnosis. She always loved sports and continued to participate in sports, games and activities even after her right leg was amputated; either in her wheelchair or on her crutches or prosthetic leg, including climbing mountains, playing football, netball and rounders. We are a group that includes Millie’s Dad, Uncle, Cousins, Dads of Millie’s classmates and family friends. We will cycle from Birmingham to Watford, along the Grand Union Canal, over two days. We are raising money for Cancer Research, specifically for research into Childhood Cancers, to try and prevent this from happening to other children and to improve the prognosis and increase early diagnosis when it does. The riders, who will ride for two days along over 115 miles of rough, bumpy canal path include Karl Brandt, Graeme Bunn, Steve Leven, Felix Martinez, Tom Martinez, Jamie Parkins, Ben Price, Mike Smith, Anton Taylor, Oliver Taylor and Oscar Taylor. Karen Lawlor and Roger Jackson are riding one day each - the Saturday and Sunday respectively. Allan Young is very kindly providing support in getting us to the start line and, if needed, along the route. Cancer is happening right now, which is why we are fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to our page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
