Mike's Great North Run 2020

GNR has gone virtual this year but I will still be running the equivalent distance. The Covid crisis has seriously affected cancer research and it is vital now more than ever to support thus life saving research. Cancer Research UK support vital research, including funding our own group in our continued efforts to find new cancer treatments. Despite many advances, lots of cancers are still poorly treated and innovative new therapies are desperately needed. Cancer has affected my family life extensively, most poignantly for me, I lost my dad to bladder cancer last year, and both my wife's parents died of cancer. Close family members are currently undergoing treatments. Research will deliver kinder and more effective treatments in future than those that these people have had to endure. Our research and fundraising activities will hopefully contribute a little towards that goal. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK.
