In memory of
my lovely Mom, Sheila Beeston
7th Apr 1948 - 16th Nov 2002
My Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 40, she had treatment and lived a very full life until it came back 11 years later in her bones. This time she wasn't so lucky and sadly lost her battle in 2002. Then last year it happened to me too. I was diagnosed with Breast cancer at 46. I have had an operation and radiotherapy and have been cancer free now for 12 months. I feel very lucky that my cancer was caught early and was treatable. It doesn't mean that the cancer won't come back but with the advances in research it means I have the best chance I can hope for going forward. So, this year I will be taking part in Race for Life Pretty Muddy, with my children and some friends who helped me through last year. I want to do my bit to help raise money to find a cure for this disease that effects so many people. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
