My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why we are taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. Sadly last year we lost a member of our family to Cancer. Sue was known as Mum, Nan, Nanny and over recent years Nanni Great. Nanni Great became her favourite name which was extremely fitting as she truly was a great person. She was a very special person to us all and is missed so much each and every day. Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 pandemic and restrictions that were in place, we couldn't have a wake or celebration of her life following her funeral. Therefore as a family we decided that some of us running a Race for Life would be a great way to remember her, challenge ourselves and hopefully raise money which will help to save lives in the future! When we decided to do this it started off as a 5k and quickly escalated to a 10k- given that 50% of our team (me being one of them) have never done an organised run or even run around the block this will certainly be a challenge to say the least!!!
