My Story
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2023 just after I turned 40. I went through gruelling chemo for 6 months followed be 2 surgeries, 15 radiotherapy sessions, immunotherapy, another year of lighter chemo and finishing off with a surgery only 6 weeks ago. My body and mental health has been through so much and now I am in a very intense forced menopause. I decided to take up swimming to help with my recovery. When I heard about the 10k in May charity swim, I thought it would be a great way to keep me motivated and to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. I know I am very lucky to be here today and owe that to the advancements in cancer treatment. This sadly isn't the case for everyone and we are still losing too many people to cancer. This charity really needs all the support so we can help stop that happening. Thank you for visiting my fundraiser pages and I hope you can follow along on my journey ❤️

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
