Michelle is swimming 10k in August

My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I’m going to swim my way to 10k in August to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. I'm sure most of you are aware that cancer has and is touching the lives of some very dear people to me. I've watched and am watching at close quarters what life saving treatment and unbelievable science coupled with pure grit and determination can do. And it's heartbreaking humbling and amazing. I'd like to help raise some cash so this life saving reserch can continue. Up until 18 months ago I had a fear of water on my face I could barely breaststroke and couldn't even continplait putting my head under the water. I started swimming at my local pool with a hope it would help me squeeze into my wedding dress. It did but more importantly I started to conquered my fear of going under water and met some great people along the way. I can now swim fron crawl and be under water. I've still never jumped in that's a terrifying thought ha. I've enjoyed swimming so much I've started open water swimming at a local lake. It's no longer about squeezing into a wedding dress but more about pushing myself to achieve something I didn't think possible. It's not a patch on anything anyone dealing with cancer it's diagnosis and treatment are going through but it's my own mini challenge to try and raise some money to help kick cancers butt.
