My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Recently one of my very close relatives was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Luckily for her (and whole of our family) the cancer was treatable and she has now recovered after a long and difficult period of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, cancer can strike anyone at any time and not everyone who gets it can be cured. Research can make a real difference here by improving survival rates and curing different types of cancer, and that's why it's so important it gets enough funded. Because of this I have signed-up to do the Great North Run (half marathon) to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I am having to push myself to achieve this goal and I am training right from a couch-lifestyle to the 20km distance. I have already started training with some injury setbacks, but I am fully committed to seeing out the distance because this is a cause I believe in, even if that may mean me crawling over the finishing line. Please help support research and donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
