My Story
During the month of March I will be raising much needed money for Cancer Research UK by taking on their 'run 10 5k's in March' challenge. You are probably thinking this is a bit easy for me as someone who runs regularly and you would be right. So, my plan is to run or race a half marathon each weekend, starting with the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday 1st March, and 2 x 5k runs in the week days in-between (these may be part of slightly longer runs). Why CRUK and why now? Our son found a lump on his body back in November last year which was removed and then sent for a biopsy. In January we found out the news no one ever wants to hear that it was in fact cancer, Rhabdomyosarcoma to be more precise. He now faces 6 months of Chemotherapy and possibly Radiotherapy if another small lump which has been found is considered to be a risk. The research that CRUK undertakes means that this form of cancer, and many others, is now more widely understood and the treatment available is more specific for the various forms of cancer that impact a lot of people here in the UK. So it only seems right to put myself through this to raise some funds for this worthwhile charity to support it's research into this life impacting disease. If you are able to donate, even £1 or £2, it would be greatly appreciated and would contribute to an incredible cause.

CAUSE
All Cancer Types
Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
