Michaela's Race for Life

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I have teamed up with three of my colleagues, to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Together, we are taking part in the Pretty Muddy Race for Life (5K) on Sunday 12 September 2021 and hope to raise £2,000 for this great cause. Like many of us, this cause is close to my heart. For those that do not know, my colleague Abbie is also my daughter and our lives have been greatly affected by cancer through the years. We have endured the pain of losing three out of four grandparents as a consequence of different cancers. My mum had breast cancer in her early forties but is thankfully now cancer free and still around to tell the tale. In 2007, my dad was diagnosed with a rare sinus cancer and told he had just months to live. However, following aggressive rounds of both chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he was told that the cancer was, miraculously, in remission and I am pleased to say that he remains cancer-free and is still going strong – and very much enjoying his new role of ‘Great Grandad’!
