Michaela's Race for Life

I'm taking part in Race for Life to raise money to beat cancer sooner, because i have experienced this horrid disease first hand and know many people fighting it, or lost their battle with it.

My Story

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, I had three operations, 6 months of gruelling chemo, 3 and a half weeks of radiotherapy, followed by reconstructive surgery. It was probably the most difficult time in my life, and it has taken so much from me, including a good friend and my aunty, all while I was on my journey and fighting it. I also have family still battling this cruel disease. I am lucky I came out the other side and I am determined to make the most of each day and do what I can to help others that find themselves in similar situations. If it hadn't been for medical expertise, amazing nursing staff, patient and caring friends and loving family, what was an unexplainably difficult time in my life could have been worse
