My Story
Michael was a strong, funny and eccentric man, an absolute character, who was a committed father, loving husband and loyal friend. He was kind and caring, with a brilliant ability to find the humour in everything, even in the hardest of times. An outgoing, vibrant man of many interests, he always found the fun in everything he did. He was a man who loved being on his bike, behind a computer programming, nose-deep in a book on Napoleon, attempting to play the piano or even wine tasting, who savored a good political debate, and could even be found on the occasional mountain climb. Both headstrong and understanding, he was an endorser of following your own path in life, a constant encouragement to live life your own way. He was an avid physicist, who held a strong belief in predeterminism, and supporter of science, which led him into a long career of teaching. Regrettably due to the late detection of cancer, with only 3 weeks from diagnosis to passing, he was unfairly taken from us far too soon. He is irreplaceable, and will be greatly and forever missed.
