Meg's CRUK MI Challenge

I am fortunate to be undertaking my PhD working in the Drug Discovery Unit at the CRUK Manchester Institute, alongside a group of talented researchers who are helping in the fight to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer. Cancer Research UK as a charity fund research into a wide range of oncology research, which has contributed to major improvements in cancer survival rates. With the COVID-19 crisis, charities like CRUK are suffering with a lack of funding, with their charity shops closed and all the fundraising events postponed. These events normally raise vital funds that keep our research going! My colleagues in the CRUK MI Drug Discovery Unit and I are taking up the challenge to try and raise as much money as possible so that we can continue to do our research that will ultimately save lives. I have started the “Couch to 5K” initiative set out by the BBC, to do my bit for our cause!
