Meghan's Race for Life

Hi My name is Meghan, and I am running the race for life for all the family and friends we have lost to cancer over the years. As you can see in the pictures, my nan lost her battle to cancer when she was in her 50's , she had gallbladder cancer, and unfortunately it was caught too late and they could only do the best they could to help fight it. I was 7 when she passed away, and I miss her very much. I also lost my grandfather to liver cancer within the same year. I also lost Sky (pictured below), she was my puppy, she was 8 months old when she developed a very rare type of spinal cancer, and unfortunately they could not do anything for her. So we had to make the hard decision to put her to sleep, because she was suffering, and would most likely be paralysed by it first then eventually pass away, it was the kindest thing we could do for her. And it truly broke my heart. You may say why mention your dog too, well my dogs are family and this race is for everyone including them. I just hope one day we don't have to loose anyone to cancer. Cancer research and the hospitals have done lots to help and i just want to help them more with donating. When my grandpa on my fathers side developed throat cancer they did everything they could for him, and I am happy to say he is in remission and doing well. This year I am also running to help one of my best friends Zoe, her mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year and its been a tough road for them. Zoe and Her Mum Lisa are two of the kindest and strongest people i know, and I am going to be running for them both this year also! We will beat this together!!
