MEGANS SKYDIVE FOR CANCER

My Story

Most people try to avoid falling, We grab onto security, We hold tight to comfort and We keep our feet firmly on the ground. But this year, I’m choosing to let go! Sunday 14th June 2026 I’m choosing to step out of a plane thousands of feet in the air not because I love heights, and not because I don’t feel fear but because cancer doesn’t give people the choice to stay safe. Cancer doesn’t ask if someone is ready, It doesn’t check if the timing is right. It doesn’t care how strong or brave you think you are It just shows up and when it does, lives change in an instant. I’m afraid of a world where cancer keeps taking away the people we love! Cancer has affected my life in many ways over the years with many people I know both friends and family having to fight it. Some have beaten it but unfortunately some haven’t. I’m doing this skydive in memory of my grandad, Keith a man who meant more to me than I can ever properly put into words. Cancer took him from us, and not a day goes by that I don’t wish we’d had more time. I’m also doing this for my friend Rebekah, who is bravely battling cancer right now. While I’m choosing to step out of a plane for a few minutes of fear, she’s facing hospital appointments, treatments, exhaustion, uncertainty and showing a strength that inspires me every single day. This jump is nothing compared to that fight. When I stand at that open aircraft door, heart racing and wind rushing past, I’ll be thinking about something bigger than fear I will be thinking about everyone around me who has been affected by cancer. The freefall will last seconds but the impact of research lasts generations. Research gives families more time. Research gives friends more memories. Research gives people like Rebekah better treatments and better chances. Research is the reason we can believe in a future with more survivors and fewer goodbyes. Cancer doesn’t care who you are. It doesn’t care how loved you are. It doesn’t care how much more life you still have to give. So I’m jumping to honour my grandad Keith’s memory! I’m jumping to stand beside Rebekah in her fight! I’m jumping because doing nothing isn’t an option because Cancer sucks! If my moment of fear can help fund even one breakthrough… If one jump can help support one family… If one act of courage can honour those who have fought harder battles… Then it’s worth every second! So I’m taking the leap. Not just from a plane but toward a future where cancer has fewer victories and more defeats.
