I’m taking part in Shine Night Walk to raise awareness of Thyroid Cancer
September is Thyroid Cancer awareness month, an illness which is very close to our hearts. No one can prepare you for the unexpected news of a diagnosis and the life changing impact the journey has on your life. Thyroid Cancer is rare, but numbers are rising. Currently, this stands at approximately 2,700 new cases in the UK each year. More prevalent in women than men (at a ratio of 2 to 1), Thyroid Cancer is the most common endocrine malignancy. The most common Thyroid Cancers are known as “differentiated”, these are papillary and follicular cancers. Follicular cancer may include a variant called Hurthle cell. We want to use this walk as an opportunity to raise awareness of Thyroid Cancer, as well as thank Cancer Research UK, Macmillian, Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust and Maggie’s for all of their amazing work in managing and curing cancer. Please donate to my Giving Page to help find more ways to overcome cancer and support people going through their own journeys every day!

Diagnosing cancer early
Spotting cancer early improves the chances of successful treatment. That's why Cancer Research UK is doing everything it can to ensure that more people are diagnosed at an earlier stage. Your donation can help fund research into screening tests and other ways to detect cancer early.
