My Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page! Mediart is a fundraising online events series focusing on helping people explore emotions and cope with stress. The event series is held by second-year events management students studying at the University of Northampton. We thought that there is no better way to entertain and soothe people all around the world during hard times worldwide in the most beneficial way possible – creating an online therapeutic art workshop. We are looking to raise money for the charity Cancer Research UK. As we all know humanity is experiencing extremely hard times. Especially the charities supporting other people with not everyday problems. During the global pandemic, those charities need even more funding to help to keep the lights on, keep the much-needed machines running, and to find new treatments for people that need them the most. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Drawing Competition "2020 Year to Remember" 2020 was indeed a challenging year for most of us and our personalities how changed a lot during these times. The main goal of the competition is to encourage them to draw a portrait of themselves in 2020 and think about how they change, what new skills or characteristics they gained during 2020. It's an astonishing way to acknowledge what really matters to you and express your gratitude. • How to enter: Everyone is welcome to enter the competition by submitting one painting per person who donates a £2 entry fee as their contribution to raising money for Cancer Research UK. Closing date 24th April 2021. • Theme: Portrait of how you saw yourself during 2020 • Artwork's Medium: Any kind of material or supplies. • Prizes: All eligible entries will be judged by the professional artists and events team. All of the participant's artworks will be displayed on the MediART Facebook page for voting. The TOP THREE winners will be rewarded and the entry with the most votes wins the GRAND PRIZE. Details on voting will be posted, along with the Facebook pictures later on Nameplates for your artwork should include the following info: 1. The name of the portrait 2. Your name 3. Mention of materials and supplies used 4.
