2020 London Landmarks Half Marathon
Sun 29 Mar 2020 - Sun 29 Mar 2020
I must be mad... the London Landmarks Half Marathon and the Great North Run in 2020! And now the Great North Run in 2021!
On the 3rd December 2019, my partner’s dad was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer which had spread to his brain and bones. 7 weeks later, on the 23rd January 2020, he sadly passed away. After David was diagnosed, I made him a promise to run 13.1 miles and raise as much money as I could for charity. So here is me keeping my promise and this is for David. I’m not just keeping my promise, I’m running both the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 29th March and the Great North Run on 13th September. Update 13/09/2020; I ran the Local Landmarks Half Marathon on 29th March 2020, 13.1 miles in a time of 01:59:59. And I now have the medal...🏅🙌🏻 As the Great North Run was cancelled, I entered the GNR Solo, 1 run for every year of the GNR, 40 runs in the 78 days from 28th June to 13th September. I managed to complete 43 runs with a total mileage of 200.1 miles. I ran the Great North Run Virtually on 13th September 2020, 13.1 miles in a time of 02:07:45. 🙌🏻 Roll on running The Great North Run in 2021! 🤞🏻 I am using this page for donations for the Local Landmarks Half Marathon, The GNR Solo, The Virtual Great North Run, and The Great North Run 2021. Cancer is happening right now, it doesn’t discriminate. Please give whatever you can to this worthy cause. Love May 💕
