This September I will be trying to run the Great North Run for Cancer Research. It has been an aim of mine for many years to do something for the charity that means so much to me and my family. 18 years ago my mum sadly lost her battle with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and after my step grandma also lost her battle with cancer this year, I thought it was about time I did something to make them proud and raise some money to help in any way towards preventing families experiencing the same as what we have. Any change no matter how small will be greatly appreciated and i’ll try my best to get over the finish line in one piece. Thank you so much to everyone that donates it really means the world.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
