My Story
Hello! As some of you may know during lockdown I picked up cycling as of bit of a hobby and somehow got addicted to the lavish lycra lifestyle (I just love how the shorts show off my pale complexion) So when I saw the opportunity come up to ride my bike and try and raise some money for charity it seemed like a bit of a no brainer especially with it being a cause so close to many of us in current times. Over the past few years, several of my family members have sadly been diagnosed with different forms of cancer. Most recently of those has been my aunty, who has battled breast cancer and managed to make it through like a true survivor. Unfortunately however, for many people they are not so lucky, but with charities such as Cancer Research UK further developments can be made to reduce those numbers and give people a fighting chance. So here we are, a food loving Max with 300 miles to cover over 30 days and a bicycle beneath my (bingo) wings. What could go wrong? Well if it’s anything like the past 3 months of cycling probably quite a lot. Anyway you’re probably thinking 300 miles in 30 days isn’t a lot and well yeah I thought that too, until I looked and realised that’s the equivalent of me riding all the way to Dunfermline. I did question whether I could do that, actually ride all the way to Scotland. That was until I rode to Ironbridge and back and struggled to walk for the rest of the day and also only clocked up 40 miles in the process. Anyway enough of my absolutely awful banter, 300 miles is what lies ahead and I will try and do it in the shortest amount of time possible not for myself but for a great cause so if anyone can spare absolutely any amount of money I would honestly be so grateful. Thanks for taking your time to read my story!
