My Story
Breast cancer, Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Lung Cancer, Leukaemia, Prostate Cancer, Bowel Cancer. These have affected my family and friends. I have lost people. I miss my job, I miss my wee shop. I can't do the science bit but I work my ass off to make money to help pay for research, scientists, microscopes, doctors, drugs. In current covid times less people are presenting at their GP with signs or symptoms of cancer, smear tests are not being attended, cancer has fallen down the priority list :-( Please, check your breasts, question changes in your body, call your GP. And if you can, donate some cash. Thanks, M x Cancer is a growing global issue. Cancer Research UK works with the best scientists and partner organisations across the globe to beat cancer. So, this World Cancer Day I’m calling on everyone to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s vital work so we can save more lives in the UK and around the world. At this time of year, I’d usually be taking to my local high street with a bucket to raise money for Cancer Research UK in support of the World Cancer Day campaign. But we need to do things a little differently this year, which is why I’m collecting for A Bucket for Change to help raise money for life-saving research. Every penny makes a huge difference to cancer research so please clear out your loose change and show your support with a donation to my page. A donation of £10 could fund our Cancer Chat forum for half an hour which is a safe online space open to anyone to discuss any aspect of cancer. On World Cancer Day, it’s time to unite and take action.
