2022 Virtual London Marathon

As my joints are no longer up to running, this October I am walking the 'Virtual' London Marathon in aid of Cancer Research UK and hope that you would help me raise the £300 I have promised to raise as a minimum. Having run the actual London Marathon on three occasions and been rejected for the event on several subsequent applications, I gained a place in the 2021 Virtual London Marathon. The Virtual London Marathon involves completing the 26.2 miles on 2nd October, the same day as the actual London Marathon, but in a location of your own choosing. The participants are provided with an App that tracks their progress, this ensures no cheating!! As a personal challenge I walked the 2021 VLM in 7 hours 45 minutes, including the "necessary" breaks (photo below having finished on Penmaenmawr Prom). This time I wanted to put my effort towards a worthwhile cause - and hopefully beat my time. Your help would be much appreciated to aid Cancer Research UK and to achieve my target. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
