My Story
As my joints are no longer up to running, this October I am walking the 'Virtual' London Marathon in aid of Cancer Research UK and hope that you would help me raise the £300 I have promised to raise as a minimum. Having run the actual London Marathon on three occasions and been rejected for the event on several subsequent applications, I gained a place in the 2021 Virtual London Marathon. The Virtual London Marathon involves completing the 26.2 miles on 2nd October, the same day as the actual London Marathon, but in a location of your own choosing. The participants are provided with an App that tracks their progress, this ensures no cheating!! As a personal challenge I walked the 2021 VLM in 7 hours 45 minutes, including the "necessary" breaks (photo below having finished on Penmaenmawr Prom). This time I wanted to put my effort towards a worthwhile cause - and hopefully beat my time. Your help would be much appreciated to aid Cancer Research UK and to achieve my target.
