My Story
For the last few years, because of my own health issues, I have raised money for Diabetes UK, JDRF, British Heart Foundation & Asthma UK. But this summer, I have decided to do something for a cancer charity, given my family's unexpected experience, when mum was diagnosed and died with ovarian cancer in 2003. I have seen up close & personal the immense pain, anguish & distress cancer can cause both for people with the disease and for everyone around that person and particularly those closest to them. So I will be getting lots of walking in, over the summer, to train for this 26+ miles walk around central London, on 21 September 2019. My overall health is bound to throw me a few curved balls along the way, but will aim to keep my blood sugars, lungs and feet in as good nick as possible to successfully complete the course - but am going to need some help and support to get me there - which is where you come in!! Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
