2019 Winter Run
My Story
Cancer is something that will eventually touch almost everyone, whether personally, a friend, or family member. Thankfully cancer survival rates have doubled in my lifetime, but there is still a lot of work to do. In 2019 we are on the cusp of a number of breakthroughs, which mean there is a realistic chance that all cancers can be cured within my children's lifetime. To do my bit I'm running in the Winter 10k, and squeezing in my training along the icy canal toepath in the pitch black winter mornings. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
