Matt & Ryan take on the Fan Dance

Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. We (Matt and Ryan) will be taking on the gruelling Fan Dance event on September 19th 2020, a 24km SAS test March staged over Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons, carrying a Bergen weighing 35 pounds (or 16kg). The infamous march is the worlds oldest special forces test and is used as the first major indicator as to whether the candidate has the physical and mental aptitude to complete the legendary selection course. We both strongly believe in the unrelenting pursuit of physical and mental excellence, and the Fan Dance couldn’t be more closely aligned with this ethos. Organised by ex special forces soldiers, it is true to the real selection test in every sense. Although the training and completion of this event will be extremely challenging, it will not come remotely close to the challenges faced by those battling cancer, and the families of those who have sadly lost their lives to this terrible illness. We wish to play a small part in supporting Cancer Research UK and their wonderful mission to fund essential research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all forms of cancer. Matt has been fortunate enough to visit their Manchester research labs and witness first hand the monumental efforts the charity is putting in to save lives.
