Martin's 2023 LDU: 2Wheel Challenge C.R.U.K

Firstly thank you for visiting my Just Giving Page which I will be doing a Charity motorcycle challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK. Which I draw on you for support and sponsorship for this great cause. The challenge is at 4:00am on the Longest Day of the year [2023] to ride from Lands’ End to John O’ Groats in 24 hours. What makes it more challenging is the bikes must be brought within a budget of £600. I have managed to find a bike which has not turned a wheel or been MOT’d in 4 years. I then must prepare this high mileage 1999 Honda ready for this 980-mile adventure non-stop in 24 hours, which the task is motorways and toll roads are not permitted, and then make the 600-mile journey home. I will posting regular updates of my progress and unwanted setbacks. We all know of the cruelness Cancer has and how it unfairly impact the lives of our loved ones, our family members, good friends and their families. I have assorted reasons for doing this but one of the motivations is those that I know who have been affected by this unkind disease is their strength, they are forces of nature having to cope with the punishing brutality, so I hope this challenge will help those together with supporting their families, the medical teams and all support staff.
