My Story
My Colin died on10th February 2017 from brain cancer aged just 46 years. He first began to suffer from depression anxiety and panic attacks when he went to study to be a doctor at Edinburgh University in 1988. Sadly he became so ill he had to drop out before his final year. He was diagnosed with depression and anxiety and was treated for this with medication and psychological interventions until in 2007 his GP referred him to a neurologist who sent him for an MRI and a tumor in his left temporal lobe was detected. Two subsequent resections , radiotherapy and chemotherapy could not stop Colins tumor. But maybe early detection may have? So I am wanting to raise awareness and to raise money so that others who have Colins condition may live longer and healthier lives Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
