Mark and Janette's Half Marathon Giving Page

I have set up this page on behalf of myself and Janette. Just over two years ago I decided I had to do something to lose weight. I was unable to run around a cricket field without stopping and was struggling to play fight with my son for more than a few minutes without being worn out. I managed to lose 4 stone in 4 months and am so chuffed that I’ve managed to keep the vast majority of it off over the past 18 months. After meeting Janette and watching her run the Reading half marathon for the first time last year, I thought I would attempt to run it with her this year to prove to myself that I have come a long way from where I was. From never running before to attempting to run a half marathon, this would be a huge achievement and something I am determined to do. This is also a great opportunity to raise some much needed money for cancer research which is something that is so close to many people's hearts. Janette has already completed one marathon and is now determined to complete a second one after needing a major operation at the start of 2021, which came totally out of the blue, in which she also caught Covid during her time in hospital. Janette lost her dad to cancer a couple of years ago so this charity means a lot, she hopes no one ever has to go through the loss of losing a loved one far too early due to this horrible disease - we need a cure!
