My Story
Welcome to the Team-Troubly Race for Life fundraising page. Thank you to my sweet cousin, sister and bestie Tubby (aka Saima) for registering with me. Now its time for me to share my story... I've been meaning to participate in the Race for Life since losing my father in November 2015. Dad always had a great sense of humour, he was positive and had a contagious smile! Although the prognosis was he only had 6 months to live, he battled Lung Cancer for up to 3 years. The Chemo didn't seem to have any substantial negative effect on him and Alhumdulillah he was blessed to live his day to day life in decent health. My dad definitely deserved to be known as a true fighter and inspiration... But unfortunately as Cancer does; it spread, and in the end the Brain Tumour won. I will never forget seeing him struggle in his last few months, Suddenly your whole world crumbles before you. I don't think I was brave enough to say anything or to see him deteriorate, until his final week. Despite being his "favourite" I live with the regret of not being there enough. So always tell the people closest to you how much you love them and show them how much you care, because you never know when the opportunity maybe snatched away from you. I hope dad knows with every prayer and tear i shed how much he means to me, how much I miss and love him. For many of us fathers are our shelters, our pillars of support and our saviours. Fathers give us strength, hope, unconditional love and much more. So please support Team-Troubly raise as much money as possible. Donate generously, donate whatever you can! Lets beat Cancer together!!! This ones for you Aba. -And I will allway's be his Shabi.
