Shine Night Walk Newcastle Gateshead 10k 2026
My Story
As some of you may know, my amazing sister Emma, was recently diagnosed with a rare, and aggressive signet ring rectal cancer. Signet ring carcinoma accounts for only 1% of all bowel cancers, and often affects younger people. Due to the makeup and behaviour of signet ring, by the time it is detected, its often in advanced stages, making treatments much more difficult, and sadly, this is the case with Emma. In solidarity with my sister, I will be taking part in a shine night 10km walk this October in Newcastle. Me, along with thousands of others up and down the country, will be lighting up our cities with a shared purpose; to raise funds for the life saving work at cancer research. My personal goal, is to raise as much as possible to go specifically towards 'early detection' of these rare, agressive cancers. Earlier detection is vital and can significantly improve a individuals prognosis. So please guys, any sponser, big or small will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou everyone 🫶 and remember.. "nobody fights alone"!!!💙
