My Story
I've lost family and friends to cancer, most people probably have. Happily, I also know people who've survived it. Mum died of cancer in 2021. She'd survived bowel cancer, but it returned in her kidney and she died on 10 October. This October, I'm walking Cardiff's 10km Shine Night to raise money for Cancer Research, in the hope that more people survive. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
