My Story

dad’s side of the family has had cancer like a thread running through it. My grandfather died of hepatic cancer many years before I was born. Dad died of lung cancer, anon-smoker; his sisters and brother all died of other cancers. Most recently my sister has had haematological cancers and I have become involved as a sibling stem cell donor. She has participated in research studies during her treatment. As a doctor I know that CRUK helps move knowledge forward by funding research studies of good quality so the next generation may have more resilience to all types of cancer.
