My Story
Cancer has played a big part in our lives in the last year. In July my sister in law and great friend Coreena left us after cancer came back for the 3rd and final time. A rare form of cancer which was so aggressive it took her away from us all too quickly. Just 3 months later my mother in law also passed away, after having dementia for 3 years we lost her due to cancer that had already spread. I also have a sister who is terminal and battling every day. That’s why this year I will be taking part in Pretty Muddy with my daughter Isobel, an oncology nurse to raise vital funds. My experience may sound unlucky, or even a lot, but the reality is 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour.
