Marie's Race for Life

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. Seeing my nephew battle this disease so bravely (and thankfully successfully) over the last year has been both sobering and inspiring. So I am keen to give something back … The progress made in treatments, care and survival rates since my mam lost her battle with cancer 35 years ago is remarkable and wouldn’t been possible without this ongoing investment and research. I’m so thankful for that work and the lives of my so many loved ones it has saved and prolonged over the years. But unfortunately there is more to do. When you consider that 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime it isn’t surprising to find that every branch of our extended Conlon family has been impacted by cancer. So I’m running this on behalf of all of the Conlons, Cairns, Curries, Clarks, Grays, Gills, Millers, Symmingtons ( and too many others to mention) that we’ve lost and in thanks for all of those that survived and/or are currently living with cancer.
